  • S01E01 World's Fastest Pickups — Rivian R1T vs Ram TRX vs Ford Raptor vs Syclone

    • March 24, 2022

America Truck Yeah! We assemble the four quickest production pickup trucks ever made in a 3-race debut of our newest show featuring automotive journalist Jason Cammisa. Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Race Replay combines ultra-high-quality 4K and drone footage of races with full VBox instrumented testing results and a slow-motion walk-back explanation of what you just saw — putting all that performance into perspective. In this episode, we welcome special guest Kim Nielsen, the creator of the GMC Syclone and Typhoon, the original muscle trucks. Kim races his personal, stock, GMC Syclone against the others. The Rivian R1T Launch Edition makes 835 hp from 4 motors, and dethrones the Ram TRX, with its 702-hp Hellcat V-8, as the quickest pickup ever produced. Only slightly behind is the Ford Raptor, with its 450-hp twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6. But where does the GMC Syclone fall on the leaderboard? You'll have to watch to find out.

  • S01E02 Racing the World's Fastest Sedans: Tesla Plaid, Lucid Air, E39 M5

    • April 7, 2022

Episode 2 of Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Race Replay features today's two quickest accelerating sedans, the 1020-hp Tesla Model S Plaid and the 1111-hp Lucid Air Dream Edition. But to put their performance into perspective, we use a known benchmark from 20 years ago: the E39-chassis BMW M5. With a 400-hp, 4.9-liter V-8, the E39 was the quickest sedan in the world when it debuted in 2000. For this drag race, it gets a highway-speed head start: it begins the drag race at 70 mph. Will the Tesla and Lucid catch up within a quarter-mile? And finally, what about a skydiver? Max Splatterson — a fictional, computer-generated skydiver — begins his race exactly one quarter mile above the finish line. He and the two electric sedans start at exactly the same time. His position during the fall is calculated using math and physics; the cars' positions are thanks to sheer horsepower. (And a couple other things, like tire grip. And suspension. And aero drag. Whatever. They're really racing.)

  • S01E03 How fast is the new $50k Nissan Z? — New Z vs Supra vs Mustang Mach-1

    • May 15, 2022

The 2023 Nissan Z has a 400-hp twin-turbo V-6. It's roughly the same price as the Ford Mustang GT 5.0 and Toyota Supra, so let's answer the $50,000 question: Which one makes it through the quarter-mile first? The 2023 Z Sport starts at $41,015 (with destination) but this is the $51,015 Z Performance, which comes with wider tires and a limited-slip differential. It's likely that the base car will be slower due to the rear-wheel traction differential. For the first race, with Jason Cammisa's now-iconic frozen-time slow-mo walkback, we have the 2023 Nissan Z with a 9-speed automatic transmission battling a 10-speed Ford Mustang Mach-1 and an 8-speed Toyota GR Supra 3.0. For the second race, we have the 9-speed automatic Z versus the Z 6-speed manual. And for the bonus round, we have a 2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.7, which is almost exactly the same size, weight, horsepower, and torque as the New Z. Please be sure to watch the full episode for Jason's explanation of why the Z didn'

  • S01E04 Bronco Raptor vs G63 AMG vs Jeep Wrangler 392 vs Defender V8 vs Gallardo

    • July 14, 2022

The Braptor is here for the ultimate drag race! Can Ford's new Bronco Raptor keep up with the fastest trucks you can buy? Starring the Mercedes-AMG G63, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392, Land Rover Defender 90 V8 — and a Lamborghini Gallardo for good measure! Shaped like the boxes they come delivered in, these versions are the fastest monster trucks you can buy — but can any of them keep up with a mid-engine, 4-wheel-drive Italian supercar?

  • S01E05 Can the new Acura Integra keep up with its peers? Or the original Type R?

    • July 28, 2022

How quick is the 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec? On this episode of Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Race Replay, we race it against the legend: the original DC2 Integra Type R. After the new-vs-old Integra race, we race the new Integra against its current front-wheel drive competition: the Volkswagen Jetta GLI and Hyundai Elantra N — the only other fwd, turbocharged, manual-transmission sport compact sedans you can buy today. For perspective on just how fast today's cars are, we also bring out a Ford Bronco Raptor — though we keep it on the dirt. Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Replay is all about perspective, including our now-famous walkback, in which Jason explains what happened — including for example, how the Integra's gears are so short that it actually pulls harder than the Jetta GLI; or how the Jetta's all-season tires and overprotective traction control mean it's already behind the all-business Hyundai Elantra N by the time it gets to 30 mph.

  • S01E06 Toyota Battles BMW: 1400-hp 2JZ Supra vs S58 BMW M4 vs Lexus V8

    • September 1, 2022

The 2023 BMW M4 Competition, with its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, has got some serious competition coming for it this week, on Cammisa’s Ultimate Drag Race Rewind—and that competition is Toyota. The long awaited 2022 Toyota GR Supra meets us on the track, to compete with two BMW B58 engine counterparts—the BMW M240i xDrive and M340i. If you thought Toyota would roll up to the starting line as a team of one, think again—the 2023 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance, joins us as Toyota Motor Corporation’s V8 challenger, to squash the straight-six army. Last but not least for team Toyota, we have… a modified 1400-hp MkIV Supra? From 1993? Does Toyota’s newest Supra, toting a BMW engine and borrowed parts from the BMW Z4, best BMW’s own factory engineering? Will the V8 Lexus triumph over a sea of inline-sixes? Or, could a JDM classic released In 1993, with a boosted 2JZ-GE engine, completely squash it’s modern competition?

  • S01E07 Genesis GV60 vs the EV world: feat BMW iX, Tesla Model Y, Mach-E GT, C7 Corvette

    • September 22, 2022

It's the world's quietest drag race — Genesis GV60 Performance versus BMW's new iX xDrive50 versus the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition and the benchmark Tesla Model Y Dual-Motor Performance — until a C7 Corvette Stingray Z51 shows up. The question we're answering today: who makes the quickest mid-size people-mover — and we drag race them to find out, complete with our signature Cammisa Replay, explaining what you just saw.

  • S01E08 The World's Best-Sounding Drag Race: Lexus LFA vs Porsche Carrera GT vs Audi RS3

    • October 6, 2022

The best-sounding cars of all time have inline-5s and V-10s, and so we lined up the 2023 Audi RS3 with the Lexus LFA and a Porsche Carrera GT! First, Jason races the new Audi RS3 against an S3 to show how much quicker the 5-cylinder Audi is than its 4-cylinder brother. The RS3 has the world's only remaining 5-cylinder engine, so Jason raced it against the first-ever production gasoline 5-cylinder — in its semifinal form in a 1991 Audi 200 20V Quattro. Then it's time for a rev-off argument with Randy Pobst in a Porsche Carrera GT. Plus, an objective measurement of which is louder: CGT or LFA? With special thanks to 034 Motorsport for bringing out their Audi S4!

  • S01E09 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 Races Porsche 992 GT3, Ducati V4 SP2, and Audi R8 V10

    • December 1, 2022

This drag race pits the new 2023 Corvette Z06, and its outrageous, 8600-rpm 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 against the world's fastest naturally aspirated, mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive cars — and one motorcycle: Representing the 4-cylinder engine is the 15,500-rpm Ducati Panigale SP2, Ducati's top-of-the-line track-focused superbike. The 6-cylinder Porsche 911 GT3 is the naturally aspirated benchmark at more than 125 hp/liter and a 9000-rpm redline. And the Audi R8 Performance V10 Spyder RWD has an 8700-rpm screaming V-10 shared with the Lamborghini Huracan. In this episode of Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Race Replay, Webby Award-winning automotive journalist is joined by SCCA Hall of Fame Race Car Driver Randy Pobst — and MotoAmerica Supersport Champion rider Josh Herrin. And they might have attacked one another with a baseball bat.

  • S01E10 The World's Quickest Cars: Lucid Air Sapphire v Bugatti Chiron v Tesla Plaid

    • December 15, 2022

Jason Cammisa got the exclusive first test, strapped on his equipment, and broke the record: the Lucid Air Sapphire is the world's quickest-accelerating production car. With a staggering quarter-mile performance of 9.1 seconds at 156 mph, this 1200+ horsepower 3-motor Air beat out the reigning champion, the triple-motor, 1020-hp Tesla Model S Plaid, which runs the 1/4-mile in 9.3 seconds at 152 mph. The cars are "tied" at 2.1 seconds 0-60, though some trivia: the Lucid Air Sapphire gets to 60 mph 0.03 seconds before the Tesla Model S Plaid. We weren't satisfied with just that race, so we also brought along the fastest-accelerating gas-powered production car, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. This is the 1479-hp (1500-PS) Chiron with shortened gear ratios, grippy Michelin Cup 2R tires, a fixed rear wing, and weight-reduction measures. Even despite these hyper-aggressive Michelins' distaste for cold tarmac, the Chiron ripped off a 2.3-second, four-wheel-burnout launch from 0-to-60 mph,

  • S01E11 World's Quickest SUVs: Rivian R1S vs Aston DBX 707 vs Cayenne Turbo GT

    • December 29, 2022

With the help of the Maserati MC20, this is another record-breaking drag-race! This time, the award goes to the quickest-accelerating gasoline-powered SUV ever made. Find out whether that's the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe or the Aston Martin DBX707 — and whether either can keep up with the electric, four-motor, 835-hp Rivian R1S Launch Edition. The last time we included a Rivian, the R1T left the world's fastest pickup trucks in its dust. With the same powertrain and a couple fewer pounds, can the Rivian R1S SUV extend its reign? The Cayenne GT shares its platform and engine with other Volkswagen-group SUVs (the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and Audi RSQ8, to name a few) and its 631-hp output is just 10 shy of the top-dog Urus'. However, the Porsche proves even quicker than the Lamborghini. Meanwhile, the 707 is the 707-hp (metric) version of Aston's beautiful SUV — with an AMG 4.0-liter V-8 and 9-speed transmission with a wet clutchpack. Can its clutch-dump launch beat t

  • S01E12 How fast is the Corvette E-Ray? Versus Ferrari F8 & Lamborghini Huracan Evo.

    • March 23, 2023

Is the 2024 Corvette E-Ray quicker than the 2023 Corvette Z06? We explore that using numbers generated from our last episode, where the Z06 beat a Porsche 911 GT3 (992), an Audi R8 V10 Performance, and almost kept up with a Ducati Panigale V4 SP2. Using his signature time-freeze technique, veteran automotive journalist Jason Cammisa shows us the outcome of the race and explains how it happened by walking back through slow-mo time at the finish line. The Corvette E-Ray combines the Z06's wide body with the base Stingray's 6.2-liter LS2 V-8 and a front-mounted, 160-hp electric motor. Launches are now wheelspin-free and no-drama as the E-Ray rockets from 0-60 in just 2.4 seconds — making this the quickest Corvette in history. And, at 3925 lb, the heaviest. But also the first AWD Corvette and the first-ever hybrid Corvette. It's a very quick sign of things to come!

In this world's first test of the 992 GT3 RS, SCCA Hall of Fame race-car driver Randy Pobst delivers the definitive Willow S

  • S01E14 Raptor R vs Cullinan, Urus, G63 AMG, Escalade V, Range Rover

    • August 17, 2023

The World's Heaviest Supercars square off in this episode of Ultimate Drag Race Replay — with the brand-new, 700-hp Ford F-150 Raptor R racing everything it can. First comes the 682-hp Cadillac Escalade V, which makes some of the most deafeningly beautiful noise from its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan makes almost no noise as its twin-turbocharged, 6.75-liter BMW V-12 catapults it in outrageous comfort down the track. The brand new Range Rover LWB P530 also uses a BMW engine — the latest version of the 15-year-old 4.4-liter N63. Then, the 5.2-liter, supercharged Raptor R goes on to race the outrageous Lamborghini Urus and Mercedes-AMG G63. This is a race to watch — to see if any of these heavyweights can dethrone the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, the quickest SUV or truck we've ever tested.

  • S01E16 The Fastest 5-seaters of the 1990s — W124 500E v RS2 v M5 Touring + ND2

    • September 28, 2023

Just how fast was the fastest sedan in the world in 1992? The legendary Porsche-built Mercedes-Benz 500E races the fastest wagons in the world: the E34 BMW M5 Touring and the Audi RS2 Avant, which was also built by Porsche! Veteran automotive journalist Jason Cammisa and SCCA hall-of-fame race-car driver Randy Pobst line up and race the Mercedes 500E (known later as the E500) against the RS 2 and M5, and the results are surprising. Will the Mercedes' 4-speed automatic kill its chances against the two other manuals — a five-speed in the M5 and a six-speed in the Audi? And what's with the six-cylinder E320 dogleg manual wagon and its DOHC 24V 3.2-liter straight-six? The 3.8-liter S38 is the biggest straight-six that BMW has ever made, and it produced 340 PS (335 hp) at an insane, independent-throttle-body screaming 6900 rpm. The Audi's much-smaller 2.2-liter, 20-valve turbo five-cylinder made 315 PS (311 hp), and the 5.0-liter quad-cam, DOHC 32V Mercedes V-8 made 326 PS (322 hp) but had

  • S01E17 2024 Mustang Dark Horse vs Lotus Emira, M2, Supra, Camaro, Challenger

    • November 9, 2023

This episode, the brand-new 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse races everything. In the manual-transmission corner, it's the 2024 Lotus Emira, the 2023 Toyota GR Supra 6MT, and the 2023 BMW M2! And then there are the automatic contenders: the 10-speed Chevy Camaro SS and the 8-speed Dodge SRT Challenger Scat Pack Wide Body Shakedown Last Call. After this year, the muscle car is gone — the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger will be no more. The S650-chassis Ford Mustang remains the only muscle-car (or pony-car) game in town. So we lined up the Dark Horse S650, with its 6-speed Tremec manual transmission and ultra-grippy Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, for a drag race against the brand-new Lotus Emira and two BMWs: the B58-powered Toyota GR Supra 6-speed manual and the S58-powered twin-turbo BMW M2. The results may surprise you!
