For each episode, Collien Ulmen-Fernandes presents a family that wants to rearrange all of their belongings – and also want to rearrange their old life. To do this, everything the family owns is first laid out in a large warehouse, neatly lined up and sorted according to thematic blocks. What does this visually powerful moment do to the parents and children when they literally see their entire lives spread out before them? The family then has two days to organize their thousands upon thousands of things and to decide: What can stay and what has to go? From Barbie dolls to umbrellas to wedding dresses - the warehouse is a kind of private museum. What is sold, what is recycled and what is donated?
