In a Victorian mansion on the outskirts of Gloomsville lives Ruby Gloom and her off-beat circle of friends. Some kids might be afraid of the dark, the eccentric neighbours and the unknown things that dwell in the closet. But Ruby is different – she befriends these strange and sometimes scary creatures. In fact Ruby finds them all delightful. She pays no attention to their unusual appearances, perceptive only to their hearts and souls. Ruby is the happiest girl in the world, always trying to be cheerful in the face of gloom! Ruby’s perfect day is a gloomy one, full of creativity and adventure with her offbeat circle of friends. Ruby Gloom is an ironic comedy with an emphasis on the importance of friendship.

In un’austera residenza vittoriana nella periferia di Gloomsville vivono Ruby Gloom e la sua stravagante cerchia di amici. Ruby è una ragazzina di 12 anni allegra ma che trascorre le sue giornate al buio giocando e vivendo avventure con compagni del tutto fuori del comune. È molto legata a queste strane creature e le trova deliziose: non presta attenzione al loro aspetto perché di loro percepisce solo i cuori e l’animo. Sempre insieme a lei c’è, Doom Kitty, la sua gattina, con cui condivide pensieri, emozioni ed un diario segreto a cui confida i suoi pensieri quotidiani

Ruby, une petite fille joyeuse, et sa chatte Doom Kitty, vivent dans un manoir sombre. Avec ses amis, des créatures locataires qui devraient normalement lui faire peur, elle fait la fête et vit de drôle d’aventures. Chaque épisode commence et finit avec un sketch humoristique d’une minute environ, à l’exception du premier épisode.
