This story takes place a little further in the future—There are now billions of card game players in the world, to an extent where card games have become a necessity, a part of our lives.The protagonist of this story, Aichi Sendo, is a timid boy in his third year of middle school. He had been living his life looking backward rather than forward, trying not to stand out. However, he had one thing that kept him going - the Blaster Blade, a card from a card game that was given to him when he was little. That card is the reason why he begins to engage in Cardfights, something that changes his life drastically. The name of the card game is Vanguard. The game takes place in a different planet called Cray. It is a place similar to our own planet, but unlike planet Earth, Gods and Demons, Dragons and other mythical creatures still roam the land. It is also a world where both Magic and Science have advanced hand in hand. Countries with advances in different fields and cultures rule over different parts of the planet Cray. And due to a never before seen play system, it becomes popular throughout the world. Aichi, immediately attracted by Vanguard, meets friends such as Misaki Togura and Kamui Katsuragi, along with other rivals. Through friendly rivalry with them, Aichi begins to enjoy a fulfilling life. Aichi, however, has a goal: to once again battle with a Vanguard Fighter by the name of Toshiki Kai. Toshiki Kai is an aloof and cold-hearted high schooler who has outstanding abilities in the world of Vanguard. He is also the reason why Aichi started playing the game. For him, Kai is the person who saved him from his boring life and introduced him to Vanguard. In order to get better at Vanguard, Aichi puts his soul into it every day. He wishes that someday, he'll be able to battle Kai and have him recognize his worth.

Il protagonista della storia, Aichi Sendou, è un ragazzino timido al terzo anno delle scuole medie. Ha sempre vissuto la propria vita guardando indietro piuttosto che avanti, e cercando di non mettersi troppo in mostra. Tuttavia, Aichi possiede una cosa che lo distingue dagli altri - "Distruttore delle Lame", una carta di un gioco di carte che gli è stata data quando era piccolo. Questa carta è il motivo per cui comincia a giocare ad un gioco che cambierà drasticamente la sua vita, il cui nome è "Vanguard". Questo gioco si svolge su un altro pianeta chiamato "Cray" tramite un sistema di gioco mai visto prima, ed è diventato popolare in tutto il mondo.

Un nouveau jeu de cartes est à la mode : Vanguard. Sendo Aichi est un élève timide qui subit les moqueries de ses camarades. Son seul réconfort est une carte à laquelle il tient beaucoup, "Blaster Blade", offerte il y a plusieurs années. L'histoire commence lorsqu'un camarade de classe et mauvais joueur de Vanguard, remarque la carte rare de Aichi et décide de la lui voler. Pour récupérer sa carte fétiche, Aichi devra apprendre à jouer et à surpasser Kai Toshiki, le meilleur joueur du quartier.

主人公「先導愛知」在班上是個弱小又不吸引人的男生。但支撐他內心世界的，卻是一張小時候得到的卡片「狂風劍刃」。是以幻想的異世界「行星庫雷」為舞台的卡片遊戲，人稱「先導者」的珍貴稀有卡片。受到遊星布蘭多的侵略威脅下，保護著「行星庫雷」和「先導者」的愛知和他的朋友們，卻因為命運力的修正而和柯琳他們相遇，並在布蘭多之戰後失去了記憶。以高中生鬥士們為主，而舉辦的「先導者甲子園」比賽即將到來，為了取回已失去的那東西，先導者們開始了這場戰役。

O protagonista principal Aichi Sendou, é um garoto tímido e mundano do terceiro ano do ensino fundamental. A coisa que sustentou o coração de Aichi foi a carta "Blaster Blade" que ele recebeu quando criança. É uma carta rara importante de "Vanguard", um jogo de cartas com o mundo imaginário de "Planet Cray" como seu palco. Desde o dia em que ele se reuniu com a pessoa que lhe deu aquela carta "Toshiki Kai", a vida cotidiana de Aichi começou a mudar.
