Mizuno Asumi is a doctor at the University Hospital. Her only objective in life is to avenge the death of her father, a death caused by immoral and negligent doctors. She wants to reveal to the world their mistakes and corrupt behaviors, with the hope of preventing them from furthering their practise as doctors.

故事以大學醫院作舞台，這個地方本來充滿受人尊敬的聖職者，為了拯救治療困難的病患以技術和知識努力，實際上卻存在著無視生命對患者傲慢的醫生，他們為了進行研究而向患者盲目進行高風險治療，出事時為保護自己而隱藏當中的醫療失誤。 15年前，14歲水野明日美（上野樹里）的溫柔父親小山内孝夫（真島秀和）在手術中死亡，醫院不承認任何醫療失誤，但某天有人把其父的手術看護記錄寄給她，發現其中一張是偽造，而這記錄來禿聖林大學附屬醫院。對於父親的死抱懷疑的明日美，為了查明真相，決定走上醫生之道。

小山内明日美は14歳の時に、大学病院小児科教授の医師だった父・小山内孝夫が腹腔鏡下胃全摘術で死亡し、その後に薬剤を横領していたという汚職問題までが報道された。しかし、明日美は医療ミスによる父死亡の疑いと汚職の冤罪を信じていた。そんな時、何者かから医療ミスを疑わせる2枚の孝夫の手術看護記録が届く。そして、それを手に真相の解明と父の命を奪い名誉を汚した真犯人への復讐を目指す。そのために、孝夫の友人だった水野和史の養女となって水野明日美と名を変え、医師免許を得て、父の居た大学病院に新人医師として就職に成功する。
