Ted Simcock, maker of toasting forks and door knockers and Laurence Rodenhurst, dentist to the snobs of society, both enjoy A Bit Of A Do. So too do their wives, relations and assorted friends throughout their North Yorkshire town. But when their children wed, who would suspect that their conventional white wedding would be the beginning of a bizarre tangle of love, lust, hypocrisy and jealousy....
