Started out as a pirate radiostation in 1960 that aired until 1974. Got into the Dutch Public Broadcasters Program in 1976, and was part of this until 1995, when they conceived their own commercial network (in cooperation with RTL 4 and RTL 5). From 1995 until 2001, Veronica had their own channel as part of the Holland Media Group. In 2002-2003 Veronica left the HMG and aired programs on a channel via a Dutch affiliate of MTV/Viacom. In 2003 the channel was bought by SBS Broadcasting, where it has been airing programs to this day.
