Japon années 1960. Alors que Tokyo, en pleine reconstruction, signe son grand retour sur la scène internationale avec l’organisation des JO, un groupe de jeunes ouvrières connait un destin hors du commun. Après le travail, elles s’entraînent dans les conditions les plus rudes pour se hisser au sommet du volley mondial. Bientôt surnommées les "Sorcières de l’Orient", elles deviennent le symbole du miracle japonais
