Kawai Keisuke는 어렸을 때부터 물리학자가 되기를 꿈꿨던 청년입니다. 희망찬 부모는 그를 값비싼 예비학교에 보내지만 15세, 중학교 3학년 때 뇌종양 진단을 받는다. 앞으로 1년밖에 살지 못한다는 말에 절망에 빠진 그는 치료를 포기하고 친어머니까지 원망한다. 결국 가족의 도움으로 8년 동안 종양과 씨름하다가 23세의 나이로 세상을 떠났다.
