2001년, 영천에서 대구 수성구로 전학 온 17세 경환은 일본 문화에 빠진 오타쿠로, 같은 취미를 가진 반장 재민과 가까워진다. 그러나 재민을 향한 짝사랑을 고백한 이후, 재민은 점점 멀어지고 학교에는 소문이 퍼진다. 그럼에도 경환의 마음은 쉽게 사라지지 않는다.
