日本の10人のアマチュアパン職人が、テーマまたはプロのパン職人である2人の審査員の指示に従って、エピソードごとに3つのチャレンジ、お菓子、ペストリー、ケーキ、パンを焼きます。 すべてのエピソードは、そのエピソードを非常によく演じたパン屋であるスターベイカーの発表で終わり、不幸な（そして通常は涙で満たされた）排除で終わります。 ショーの終わりに、1人の非常に才能のあるホームベイカーが勝者と宣言されます。
