La storia è ambientata agli inizi del ‘900, nella Napoli della Belle Époque. Tra il cinematografo e il teatro, l'attore di spicco che domina la scena è il grande comico Eduardo Scarpetta. Proprio all'apice della carriera, Scarpetta fa un passo falso: decide di realizzare la parodia de La figlia di Iorio, tragedia del più grande poeta italiano del tempo, Gabriele D’Annunzio.
Set in the early 1900s, in the Naples of the Belle Époque. Between cinema and theater, the leading actor who dominates the scene is the great comedian Eduardo Scarpetta. At the very peak of his career, Scarpetta makes a false step: he decides to make the parody of The Daughter of Iorio, a tragedy by the greatest Italian poet of the time, Gabriele D'Annunzio.
Na Nápoles da Belle Époque dos inícios do séc. XX, um ator criava a personagem burlesca de Felice Sciosciammocca, e as salas enchiam-se para o ver. Rei do riso e rei das bilheteiras, Eduardo Scarpetta (1853-1925), interpretado de forma brilhante pelo grande ator Toni Servillo, teve uma história peculiar.
