In Bas zijn wereld zijn de stemmen die wanhopig contact zoeken met hem in het beste geval achtergrondruis. De gemuilkorfde pogingen slaan wel af en toe een kleine bres in de bouwval die hem permanent insluit, maar de muren slopen zit er nooit echt in. Bas blijft zweven in de schemerzone tussen waan en realiteit, tussen respons en isolement.
