A Bussi, un paesino della montagna pescarese, vive Cenzo, che ha passato trent'anni in fabbrica prima che il suo reparto chiudesse. Suo figlio Vince, vent'anni, aspira a studiare in una grande città, ma la sua ragazza Elena non è d'accordo: vuole sposarsi, avere dei bambini, trovare un lavoro lì.
