Emanet unutulmaz Türk filmlerinden "Askerin Dönüşü" filminin televizyona uyarlamasıdır. Emanet, geleneğin, kanunun, askerin ve kan bağının kutsal olduğu Anadolu'dan imkansız bir aşkın hikayesini anlatıyor. Jandarma çevirmesinde masum bir adamın ölümüne sebep olan Murat, adaleti ararken öldürdüğü erkeğin güzel gelini Zelal'e çaresiz bir aşkla bağlanır. Murat ve Zelal kendilerini bir ihanet içinde buldukları Tuz Gölü ve Kapadokya'nın nefes kesen coğrafyasında adalete ve aşka ulaşmak için daha çok bedel ödeyeceklerdir.
