半世紀前，坐巴士會有拉閘員及售票員，等車要半小時是等閒事，後來有雙層巴士、小巴和地鐵，情況才有改善。 未有海底隧道，汽車過海要坐船。在獅子山隧道通車前，由新界出市區，單是坐車，動輒要花半天時間。 火車方便去遠些，但是柴油火車的年代要打開車窗，廢氣和運豬車的臭味歷久不散。 經歷半世紀，太空人上月球了，香港的交通運輸發展都有「飛一般」的變化。
Half a century ago, there were gatekeepers and conductors on buses, and it took half an hour to wait for the bus. Later, there were double-decker buses, minibuses and subways, and the situation improved. There is no submarine tunnel, and cars have to take a boat to cross the sea. Before the Lion Rock Tunnel opened to traffic, it would take half a day to get out of the urban area from the New Territories. Trains are easier to travel far, but in the age of diesel trains, the windows were opened, and the smell of exhaust gas and pig trucks persisted for a long time. After half a century, astronauts have gone to the moon, and Hong Kong’s transportation development has undergone "fly-like" changes.
