黃玉芬個性率直，被利用陷害其上司樂文，文因此遭降職，視芬為仇人。時芬家開辦的雜貨店，因業主光要收樓而面臨倒閉。芬姊琴欲親近光，令其打消收舖念頭，不料奸計被文揭破，芬、文更勢成水火！正是冤家路窄，芬弟得與文妹惠相戀，因惠珠胎暗結，芬竟要與文成親家！文因女友安轉投太子爺寶懷抱，大受打擊，一蹶不振。芬見狀安慰，二人漸化敵為友。文知芬暗戀寶兄明，遂撮合二人。豈料，當芬計劃與明結婚之際，發現文已愛上自己！
