עופר זיסו הוא הרס"ר של סיירת מטכ"ל. רני, הבן שלו, הוא חייל קצת כושל וחסר ביטחון שלאחר שגורם לתאונה, מגיע להיות השק"מיסט של הסיירת בדיוק באותו המקום. זיסו האב, שכבר פיתח לעצמו חיי צבא מלאים בכל טוב ורחוקים מכל מה שקורה בבית, מבועת מהמחשבה שהבן שלו יתחיל להסתובב בבסיס.
