陳冬晴（陳美琪飾 ）在無意間撞破一宗驚人的謀殺案，從此離奇失蹤。其夫張偉聰（劉松仁飾 ）為追查愛妻下落，因而揭發了一宗又一宗的驚人謀殺案件......。冬晴的屍體終被發現，偉聰懷疑冬晴之死與身邊朋友余敏清（關詠荷飾 ）、凌梓峰（張國強飾 ）及其女友方楚怡（吳詠紅飾 ）有關，偉聰最後推理出楚怡是最有可疑之人，正要揭發此事之際，楚怡畏罪自殺。偉聰認為事有蹊蹺，楚怡應是被人謀殺，而且兇手同是殺冬晴的人，此人正是梓峰！偉聰與任職警隊的好友吳華生（林保怡飾 ）合力偵查冬晴與楚怡被殺的經過，但苦無證據把梓峰繩之以法。其間偉聰卻揭發了案中案，原來梓峰與歐陽泰（潘志文飾 ）勾結，主持一個龐大的販毒集團，而泰亦曾殺人滅口，並將罪名推落在自己女兒歐陽秀蘭（張可頤飾 ）身上，案情牽扯的人愈來愈多，而且發展愈來愈複雜...
