China in Green

In Mandarin, the color green is called 'lu', although the term 'qing' is also often used. The latter term, in turn, encompasses a whole palette of green shades, ranging from black to blue. That is why we are talking about blue or green tea. Traditionally green is a masculine color, where red is mainly related to the feminine. In ancient China, green was associated with fertility, because it represents the seed of the heavenly dragon, which embodied the male life force.
