Gail is upset by Alma's attitude, wanting to get rid of the old poor customers. Alma puts Christine and Phyllis on half time as they're over staffed and Gail walks out when Alma keeps putting her down. Don assures Ivy hat he doesn't want to use the dog, Harry's Luck, for gambling, but she is adamant that the dog must go. However, Don plans to race Harry's Luck and offers Alf half a share. When Harry Slinger turns up to pay Don the £40 for the dog, he refuses to give him up, telling Ivy she'll be a gold mine.
