این سریال در سه فصل، دو فصل گذشته و یک فصل زمان حال، ماجراهای دو خانواده را از زمان قبل انقلاب تا عصر حاضر به تصویر می‌کشد. «پاهای بیقرار» مجموعه‌ای خانوادگی و اجتماعی است و داستان رویارویی دو خانواده را نشان می‌دهد که قربانیانش فرزندان آن خانواده‌ها هستند. آدم‌های این قصه زندگی محلی و همسایگی کنار هم داشتند و دارند و بحث مبارزه با اعتیاد و فساد اقتصادی هم از رگه‌های داستان این سریال است.
