In extreme forms eight sports personalities are tested in endurance, strength and survival instinct in a competition where the wilderness represents the biggest challenge. A helicopter leaves the participants alone in the wilderness with only two tasks: to survive on what nature has to offer and find your way back to civilization as quickly as they can. Without a compass, map or food, and with limited water. Peter Jihde is the host. Together with the participants, Robert Kronberg, Thomas Wassberg, Louise Karlsson, Magnus Wislander, Per Elofsson, Erica Johansson, Sofia Mattsson and Tomas Gustafson, he visits four continents to see which sports star that best manages to survive the wilderness.

Under extrema former testas åtta idrottsstjärnors uthållighet, styrka och överlevnadsinstinkt i en tävling där vildmarken står för den största utmaningen. En helikopter lämnar deltagarna ensamma i ödemarken med endast två uppgifter: att överleva på det naturen har att erbjuda och hitta tillbaka till civilisationen så snabbt de kan. Utan kompass, karta eller mat, och med begränsat med vatten. Peter Jihde är programledare. Tillsammans med deltagarna besöker han fyra kontinenter för att se vilken idrottsstjärna som bäst lyckas överleva vildmarken.
