จางฉง หัวหน้ากลุ่มมังกรมหานคร ผู้เป็นประมุขแห่งจตุรภาคี ถูก ร.ต.ท.อนันต์ ตำรวจมือปราบฝีมือดีแห่งกรมตำรวจวิสามัญตาย การตายของจางฉงนอกจากจะทำให้เสถียรภาพของจตุรภาคีสั่นคลอน ยังสร้างความเจ็บแค้นให้แก่ เหว่ยชิง ภรรยาท้องแก่ใกล้คลอดของจางฉงเป็นอันมาก หลังจตุรภาคีแตกกระจายไปคนละทิศละทาง เธอต้องหอบลูกในท้องระหกระเหินเพียงลำพัง
