王立学術院院長であるベディボアから、“勇者”になって「淘汰」からこの世界を救え――と命じられたユーク。その第一段階として、「グラッド・シィ＝イム」の封印に向けたミッションを4組のパーティが合同で行うことになり、王都内にあるヴォーダン城に乗り込もうとする。怪しげな老人ロゥゲの導きで辿り着いたのは、城内の王立資料庫であった。そこで歴史書や魔導書に触れた彼らは、「淘汰」と「グラッド・シィ＝イム」の重大な秘密を知る。
