Riding my bike along the Historic Railroad Trail just outside Boulder City, Nevada — a route originally built in the early 1930s to help construct the legendary Hoover Dam. What was once a railway used to haul supplies and equipment has now become one of the most unique trails in the Southwest. Along the way I explore massive railroad tunnels carved through the desert mountains, discover remnants from the construction era, and take in some incredible views overlooking Lake Mead and the surrounding landscape. This historic route offers a rare chance to travel through the same tunnels that workers once used while building one of the greatest engineering feats in American history.
