At Letterkenny General Hospital in Donegal, Dr Vinnie Krishnan and his team deal with patients admitted to the Emergency Department, and paramedics Roddy Smith and Damien Bradley respond to a call on the Fanad peninsula. Seven-year-old Jake, who has autism, attends a special clinic in Kildare designed to help him prepare for the trauma of a visit to the dentist, Multi-task attendant Hanna Muldowney does the breakfast round for residents at a public nursing home in Dublin, and in Cork, a long-term smoker is admitted to Cork South Infirmary for surgery to remove tumours from his tongue and throat.
