  • S01E03 Dastardly Landlady

    Melvin and Maureen are refurbishing their musical filing when the Dastardly Landlady calls to collect the rent, but Melvin has spent it on repairs. The Toys help Melvin to try and charm the Landlady, but she sees through their plan and says they must pay up or get out. Maureen is inspired by some tinkling music, and when the Landlady returns they provide her with a Music-a-Gram which turns out to be the same price as the rent.

  • S01E04 Repercussions

    Melvin is told that his uhuru bongo drums are priceless, and in searching for them he and Maureen find a whole selection of percussion instruments, many of which are used in the story of the Royal Announcer. Unfortunately the drums are found ruined, used as plant pot holders.

    Melvin and Maureen are asked to show their knowledge of the orchestra, in rehearsals with the Redbridge Youth Orchestra and conductor Graham Smith. The toys are tied up with string, trying to form their own string quartet! Meanwhile, Melvin tells the story of the Conductor with Ants in Her Pants, which Maureen enacts. Although keen to show how much they know, both run a mile when invited to talk to the school governors.

    Maureen is waiting for the Postman to find out the result of her Tuba exam. Meanwhile Mervin is preparing some secret celebrations for her and welcomes the London Community Gospel Choir who rehearse in the basement. While Maureen's waiting she watches a video of people in a Carnival and then reads the story 'Nini at Carnival' to captions.
