Und da dieser dank seines überdimensionierten IQs Probleme mit der „normalen“ Schule hat, soll er ins Eliteinternat Lobberich einziehen, das ganz in der Nähe von Hengasch liegt. Noch bevor Kevin dort als Stipendiat aufgenommen wird, fällt dummerweise sein künftiger Lehrer Dr. Kroy tot um: Herzinfarkt – sagt jedenfalls Dr. Bechermann, der Gynäkologe des Landkreises, der nur allzu oft im Notdienst tätig ist. Die Autopsie ergibt jedoch, dass es sich nicht um einen natürlichen Tod handelt, denn Kroys Lehrkörper enthält eine riesige Menge Kokain, das offenbar nicht bewusst eingenommen wurde. Also doch Mord. Da Kroy sich großer Unbeliebtheit erfreute, gibt es auch jede Menge Schüler und Kollegen, denen die Tat zuzutrauen gewesen wäre.
