Tamayo, Kurita's grandmother, is pestering Kurita about finding a husband, so Kurita is relieved when Yamaoka calls her asking for help. On his way home, Yamaoka had run into two young children, and been told by the apartment building's landlord, that their mother had disappeared several days ago, leaving them to fend for themselves.
母親の蒸発で残された幼い兄妹。しばらくの間、塾の経営者・幡中が二人の面倒を見てくれる事になった。ある日、塾のピクニックで彼の作ったおにぎりの梅干しを捨ててしまう兄妹。幡中は厳しく咎めるが・・・。
