This massive compound was used to house those afflicted with the worst disease in American history, Tuberculosis. Thousands flocked here for treatment and many of them never left. The dark history continues when it was turned into a nursing home as well as a mental health facility for those involuntarily committed. It's said the spirits of thousands of former patients still roam these halls, waiting for unsuspecting visitors.
