يتعرض رجل الأعمال فهمي يوسف لأزمة مادية طاحنة تعرضه للإفلاس، لم يجد أي مصدر مالي لحل الأزمة حتى عرض عليه مدير مكتبه عاطف أن يستدين 40 ألف جنيه من المُرابي العجوز حسن سحتوت مقابل رهن قطعة أرض ثمينة بالصعيد، في الوقت الذي يرفض ابنه فريد العمل معه أو الزواج من نسرين ابنة إحدى الأقارب من الأثرياء.
