Sydney se vydává do Čech najit upíří kalich hraběte Stanislava.
Gastdozent und Schriftsteller Lucas Blackmer bittet Sydney, ihm bei seinen Recherchen für einen neuen Vampir-Roman zu helfen. Sydney, die sich auf eigenartige Weise in Blackmers Bann gezogen fühlt, willigt schließlich ein, ihn auf einer Europa-Reise zu begleiten. Doch Nigel und Karen sind skeptisch, denn es gibt Gerüchte, dass Blackmer selbst ein Vampir sein könnte. In einem alten Schloss in Prag stellt sich schließlich auch Sydney die Frage, wer Lucas Blackmer wirklich ist.

In the past, a vampiric count disappears with a chalice, just ahead of an angry mob. In the present day, sexy vampire writer and lecturer Lucas Blackmer asks Sydney for help in finding the chalice, which is purported to help keep a vampire alive. Count Stanislov disappeared with it three hundreds year ago. Karen and Nigel investigate Blackmer's apartment and find evidence that suggest he may be a vampire (contact lens, sunblock, a coffin). They are attacked by Kantor, a vampire hunter, who lets them go. Meanwhile, Sydney and Lucas are investigating Stanislov's castle. They find a nearby crypt, which guides them to a hidden tomb beneath a fountain in Prague. Kantor, who believes in vampires, tries to kill them rather then let them get the chalice. Lucas bleeds like any normal man, and Sydney punches out Kantor. At the end they find out that Lucas likes to ""get in character"" as a vampire and has used the adventure as the inspiration for his next book...wit

Miközben Syd Csehországban nyomoz Sztaniszlav kelyhe után, ami a legenda szerint örök életet ad a vámpíroknak, Nigel arra gyanakszik, hogy az író maga Sztaniszlav, és mindörökre meg akarja szerezni a kelyhet. Nel passato un vampiro, il Conte Stanislov, scomparve con un calice ed oggi un seducente scrittore di nome Lucas Blackmer chiede a Sydney aiuto per ritrovare il manufatto. Karen e Nigel indagano su Blackmer e scoprono che potrebbe trattarsi di un vampiro. I due vengono attaccati da Kantor, un cacciatore di vampiri. Indagando sul castello di Stanislov, Sydney e Lucas arrivano ad una grotta sotto ad una fontana, dove subiscono un nuovo attacco da parte di Kantor, che sta cercando anch'egli il calice. Alla fine Lucas rivela la verità circa la sua "natura", una verità poco soprannaturale.

Es entonces cuando Karen y Nigel comienzan a registrar el apartamento de Blackmer y encuentran pruebas que indican que un vampiro ha estado en ese lugar. De pronto, son atacados por un cazador que más tarde les permite marcharse. Mientras tanto, Sydney y Lucas van al castillo de Stanislov y allí encuentran una cripta que les guía hasta una tumba escondida debajo de una fuente.
