Ronnie Corbett invites comedian Rob Brydon over for dinner in the first episode of this wonderfully gentle new series. In this first episode, his guest is good friend Rob Brydon. Rob explains that he grew up in Port Talbot on a traditional diet of stews, Welsh lamb and bangers and mash. He claims that in his formative years he would have run scared from something as exotic as spaghetti. "If you knew a family that ate spaghetti, you’d think 'god good what’s going on there? Probably wife swapping as well!'" It wasn’t until Rob left Port Talbot for the bright lights of Cardiff that he developed the more adventurous pallet that his fantasy last supper menu reflects. Rob chooses oysters with shallots and red wine dressing to start, followed by a hearty main course of rib-eye steak in béarnaise sauce with dauphin potatoes. Rob’s menu is deliciously rounded off with a raspberry cheesecake brulee.
