The Auction

Sandra hat ihren neuen Freund Elvin mit nach Hause gebracht. Der aber tritt mit seinen Macho-Sprüchen von einem Fettnapf in den nächsten. Um sich zu rehabilitieren, beschließt er, einen Kuchen zu backen. Doch auch mit dem kann er nicht landen. Cliff bekommt Mitleid und gibt Elvin Starthilfe.

Clair bids on a painting by her great-uncle that her grandmother had once owned. Attempting to win her favor, Elvin tries to bake her a cake but fails miserably; he then gets advice from Cliff on how to pass himself off as a good cook. In real life, the painting used in the episode is Funeral Procession by Ellis Wilson.

Clair è decisa ad entrare in possesso di un dipinto di un suo vecchio zio, il famoso pittore Ellis Wilson, messo all'asta da Sotheby's. Quel dipinto apparteneva tempo fa a sua nonna ed ora Clair vorrebbe riportarlo a casa. La base d'asta è però piuttosto elevata. Intanto Elvin cerca di impressionare positivamente Clair, cimentandosi con la preparazione di alcuni manicaretti.
