The title of this episode is a bit weird and vague, and you probably clicked just to see what I’m on about, but it’s a real question: Are there multiple Californias? This might seem like a thing that only matters to Californians, but it kinda matters to everyone, since California is somewhat of the cultural capital of the US, which in turn applies to the world due to America’s current hegemonic status. So any divides hurt unity, the deeper the divide the less unity, and thereby there possibly being multiple. With an extremely divisive election behind us, California seems like it has had its underlying regional issues revealed. The state is still reeling. Remember that whole thing going around about California proposing to secede from the union? I knew people who honestly believed in it. Heck, I would vote for it, if only to watch the world burn.
