Critical Race Theory is not historical. It says current US law is white supremacist and needs to be fixed. History isn’t a concern there. Misgivings over CRT obfuscate attempting to halt teaching about America's racist past. That’s not up for debate. White supremacy pervades American history. To deny that as “anti-white” is to hinder our ability to overcome that legacy, creating yet another civil rights backlash. The current trend of fighting CRT in classrooms is just more Culture War nonsense, disguising historical erasure and preventing teachers from creating a more informed public who can deal with the necessary problems of their citizenship.
