1858 Staten Island Quarantine War

In 1800, the state of New York established a marine hospital on Staten Island used to quarantine passengers entering New York harbor who showed signs of illness. Residents opposed "the Quarantine" from the start. By 1858, they had had enough. The History Guy remembers the 1858 Staten Island Quarantine War.
