When a Dutch Fleet surrendered to French Cavalry: Den Helder

In 1795, a Dutch fleet loyal to the Prince of Orange surrendered to French cavalry. The strange occurrence of a navy surrendering to cavalry was the result of unique circumstances, but the telling of the story was driven by politics of the time. The History Guy recalls how a cold winter and the excesses of revolution warped our understanding of the capture of the Dutch fleet at Den Helder.
