Josh Wheaton, an evangelical college student, enrolls in a philosophy class taught by Professor Jeffrey Radisson, an atheism, who demands his students sign a declaration that "God is dead" to pass. Josh is the only student who refuses to sign. Radisson requires Josh to debate the topic with him but agrees to let the class members decide the winner. Josh's girlfriend Kara demands Josh either sign the statement "God is dead" or drop Radisson's class, because standing up to Radisson will jeopardize their academic future. Kara breaks up with Josh for insisting on confessing his belief in God.

Advanced Placement teacher Grace Wesley, a devout evangelical Christian, notices that one of her students, Brooke Thawley, is withdrawn following the recent accidental death of her brother. Involved in little more than her studies, Brooke notices Grace's hope-filled attitude, and asks where Grace finds her optimism. Grace replies "Jesus", and Brooke begins to read the Bible for herself. As Grace lectures on Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr., Brooke asks whether their peaceful teachings relate to the biblical account of the Sermon on the Mount. Grace responds in the affirmative, and relates parts of scripture to his teachings. One student immediately texts his parents about the class, and the ensuing backlash draws the ire of Principal Kinney. She reprimands Grace, saying that the teacher's faith clouded her judgment. Grace is subsequently brought before the School Board, who inform her that legal action will be taken against her as she has violated the separation of church and state. Grace's case draws the attention of Tom Endler, a defense attorney who is willing to aid her despite being an unbeliever himself.

In Shushan, the capital of the Persian Empire, in the year 482 B.C. a Jew named Mordecai tells his young niece, Hadassah, about a strange dream he had. He tells her that she can no longer reveal to anyone that she is a Jew, and he tells her that her new name will be Esther. He also says that their being related must also be kept a secret, because his dream foretold of terrible things to come.

Hadassah a beautiful Jewish girl, lives with her cousin Mordechai in Shushan, the capital of Persia. After King Achashverosh deposes Vashti for her refusal to obey his decree, he is advised to choose a new queen. Guards then search his entire kingdom for worthy candidates, taking them from their homes by force and removing them to the palace. Mordechai attempts to hide Hadassah but she is captured by the guards. For her protection and at the insistence of her cousin Mordechai, Hadassah changes her name to Esther, meaning "hidden". Esther and the rest of the young women are taken to the first harem, where they are placed under the custody of Haggai, a royal eunuch and chief caretaker of the harem.

The Book of Ruth: Journey of Faith

The Book of Ruth is about a Moabite woman who loses her husband, her father-in-law, and her brother-in-law. With no man to provide for her and the rest of her family, their mother-in-law decides to set them free for them to be able to remarry. But, Ruth stays with her mother-in-law out of the great love that she has for her. The both travel to Israel in hopes of a better harvest and probably even a better life. There Ruth meets Boaz, a man of noble character. He takes care of Ruth by letting her glean in his property and making sure she is safe in his field. Naomi and Ruth then decided to take the situation in their own hands by making Ruth do an certain noble act - laying down near his feet when he was sleeping at the threshing floor. She then asks Boaz to redeem her family and so he does. But, before he gets to do so, he must be able to get through the a closer relative Naomi's family has.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was a show that focused on Dr. Mike, a woman doctor in a time when that was unheard of. It started with her journey to Colorado Springs to be the town's physician after her father's death in 1868. The show focused around the town that she loved, treated and it also focused on the three children, Matthew (Chad Allen), Colleen (Erika Flores, later Jessica Bowman) and Brian Cooper (Shawn Toovey), whom she had to raise after their mother died from a rattle snake bite. In the later years, the show focused on Dr. Mike and Sully (Joe Lando) who got married and had a daughter towards the end of the shows successful run.
