江泽民从淮左名都扬州走来，从青少年时代起就立志追求真理，积极投身人民革命运动的洪流。1946年4月，江泽民加入中国共产党，从此把毕生精力献给了党和人民。
Jiang Zemin came from Yangzhou, the famed city of the Huai-Zuo region. From his youth he aspired to seek truth and threw himself into the surging tide of the people's revolutionary movement. In April 1946 he joined the Communist Party of China, and from then on devoted his life to the Party and the people.
