Erica intrigues Phil with her declaration that she knows something he doesn't about Nick Davis. When Ruth notices his discontent, Ted pretends he's worried about their finances with Phil headed for college, but later admits he's having a premonition that something terrible is going to happen and wishes he and Ruth had gone to the Senior Prom as chaperons. Although Ruth reminds him that Nick has promised not to reveal their secret to Phil, Ted fears Nick will tell him. Mona is horrified when Nick admits he fought earlier with Erica and wounded her with words about her father. Deadly serious, Mona cautions him that Erica will do whatever she can to retaliate against him, but Nick laughs it off. There's nothing Erica can do to hurt him. Mona reiterates her previous suggestion that Nick leave Pine Valley forever and stop putting Phil at risk. Nick agrees to consider it and will do whatever he decides is best for his son.
