Kdysi idylická středoevropská metropole Vídeň nezůstala ušetřena řádění zločineckých gangů. Nový člen oddělení vražd si možná představoval svůj nástup jinak, ale policisté si případy nevybírají. Komisař Alex Brandtner se tedy bude muset hned napoprvé utkat s chapadly mafie. V sázce se ocitl lidský život a Alex s Rexem musí předvést nejen lidský a psí důvtip, ale také fyzickou kondici.
