Haruka ist wieder vollständig genesen und wird aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen. Für wen wird sich Takayuki nun entscheiden? Für Haruka oder für Mitski ? Oder wird er das Schicksal von „Buridans Esel“ erleiden?
Haruka, having accepted things as they are and dedicated to her rehabilitation, has gained new confidence. She tells Takayuki that they must part ways, thanking him for the memories – their life together was like a dream. The young man resolves to fix things with Mitsuki, realizing that he needs her, that he truly loves her. Having searched everywhere for Mitsuki, Takayuki finally finds her and confesses his love and his desire that she always be by his side.
孝之帶著遙來到海邊，對遙說出了自己的心聲。孝之承認自己喜歡的是水月，因為有水月一直才能陪著走到今天，可是自己完全沒有感受到她的痛苦，直到她離開自己為止。“如果還來得及，我想為她療傷，就算花上一輩子的時間。”遙則給孝之講了《瑪雅沃爾的禮物》的故事，以作為和孝之的道別。離開後的孝之四處尋找水月，但水月已經辭去工作不知去向。尋訪無果的孝之來到那個山丘上，傷心地握著戒指。這時，水月不約而同地也來到這裡。孝之衝上前去，拉住水月的手。“我沒有你也無所謂。”“我不行，我希望你能留在我身邊，不是代替遙，我愛的人是你。”孝之告訴水月，他已經把自己的想法告訴了遙，以後不會再跟遙見面。水月不想回到從前。孝之說：“沒必要回去，因為有你在我才能站得起來，因為你一直都陪在我身邊，所以今後我也希望你能陪在我身邊。雖然不知道今後能否順利，不過我想和你在一起！”二人擁抱在一起，在雨中痛哭，決定重新開始。健康出院的遙也開始新的生活，並出了一本自己的童話話畫本《真正的寶物》。
