When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin at the office, she’s horrified to discover a woman’s severed leg inside. An alarmed Strike sets to work – and identifies three people from his own past who could be responsible for the brutal stunt. With the police proving unhelpful, Strike and Robin decide to take matters into their own hands and delve into the dark worlds of the suspects. The investigation takes them across the country, and with Robin’s wedding around the corner, the detective duo are working more closely than ever before. Battling ghosts of her own, Robin is keen to prove her worth. But as the killer closes in, she may soon become a target herself…
