As Linc reads Amy's letter, she calls out his name and stares out the window of the airplane as it takes her away from Pine Valley forever. Jeff has a casual date with Erica, and Tara warns him to be on his guard with her. Tara cries to Joe about Philip rejecting her, and Joe shocks her with the news that Phil has just learned that Amy and Nick are his parents instead of Ruth and Ted. Although Tara wants to go and comfort Phil, Joe advises her to give him time alone. After reading Amy's letter, Linc intends to phone Ruth, but is interrupted by an impromptu visit from Phoebe. He manages to get rid of her but then Nick arrives. The two quarrel about the current situation, as Linc blames Nick for Amy's departure. Nick counters the accusation with one of his own: Amy left because she knew Linc would never forgive her for having Nick Davis' child. Amy is tormented by fantasies of rejection from Phil, Linc, and Nick.
